Moldavite is currently so scarce and difficult to find, as there was only ever a relatively small, finite amount of the tektite, and this is now almost completely unavailable. Moldavite is the product of a meteor collision with Earth nearly 15 million years ago. It fell over what is now called the Moldau River Valley in Czech Republic, and the resultant green gems are among the most rare minerals on Earth. There is a finite amount of this mineral, and it is now becoming very difficult to find. Please note - there is quite a lot of material now being described as Moldavite which is not authentic - usually either dark green glass, or laboratory-created material.

Whilst this may appear similar to the genuine mineral, it completely lacks any of the amazing metaphysical properties of genuine Moldavite.
